This room introduces Man’s new achievements which led to agriculture, livestock farming and the manufacture of pottery. Once just a predator, Man becomes the producer of his own food. The activity of tending the fields leads to the creation of settlements and villages. Increasing mastery of fire allows the conquest of metallurgy and the transition to the next stage: the Metal Age.
In the upper valleys of Lamone, Senio and Santerno the spread of Neolithic and Metal Age cultures is documented by rare stone artifacts and a few fragments of pottery.
This room also displays the grave-goods found in a burial dating to the 7th – 6th century B.C.
The burial was named the Warrior’s Tomb based on the presence of three spears. The original elements that make up the rich grave-goods are displayed on the right, while the left shows a hypothetical reconstruction of the burial allowing you to see how the grave-goods were gathered at the foot of the deceased while the three spears rested on his left shoulder. Although no body remains were found during the excavation, traces of dentin indicated healthy teeth. This fact, along with the presence of the spears, seems to indicate that the presence of the spears, seem to indicate that the deceased was a young man.
