ROOM IV – Palazzuolo sul Senio

Special attention is given in this room to the war activities which marked the life of this territory between the 14th and the 16th century. Numerous castles existed during that period in the upper valleys of the Lamone, Senio and Santerno. Over the centuries, their history was marked by many sieges and battles. Inheritance, betrayals, revenge, and conquests led to continuous changes of property. Numerous small weapons were found in these areas, such as arrowheads and crossbow bolts, or “bolzoni”.

Of particular interest are some fragmentary small artillery balls.

The same room also showcases numerous pieces of pottery dating to the 14th and 15th centuries.
